Veteran Owned Small Business Program is a business development program created to help honorably discharged veterans and disabled veterans compete in the American economy and access the federal procurement market. Through its Veterans First Contracting program, VA awards a large amount of contract dollars to veterans every year by offering set-aside contracting opportunities. Participants in the Veteran assistance program can receive sole source contracts up to $4.5 million for goods and services and $7.5 million for manufacturing. The federal government has a goal of awarding 3% of all dollars for federal prime contracts to VOSB/DVOSB firms.
