Venture investors and entrepreneurship experts celebrate Black History Month by lending their views and insights for Black business founders to successfully charter the entrepreneurial pathway from ideation to succession. About this event: The Inclusivity Project is a 22nd Century initiative leveraging the CA SBDC Infrastructure to build a supportive ecosystem for California Black-owned businesses. The right business ecosystems can mitigate or negate the effects of structural obstacles to business building for Black business owners. Community-based businesses—are crucial ways to develop community wealth, for both business owners and the people they employ. Healthy Black-owned businesses could be a critical component for closing the Black wealth gap. Black and other minority business owners have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic-linked economic downturn, partly because they were already in an uncertain position and located in communities with business environments that don’t have the resources and assistance to help sustain and grow their businesses. The California Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network and The Inclusivity Project invites startups, small business enterprises, angel investors, venture capitalist, government stakeholders and industry representatives to join us for our Black History Month Global -Diversity and Investment Summit. This is a free virtual event made possible through the support of the U.S. Small Business Administration and California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development. We are honored to announce our Keynote Speaker, Tara Lynn Gray, Director, Office of the Small Business Advocate with California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (Go-Biz) and Author of Soon-to-be-released book "Undervalued No More" committed to small business growth. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least 2 weeks in advance.
