ABOUT THE AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

IT’s BUILDING BRIDGES

A primary goal of the Ambassador (Pilot) Program is to support local business owners, their workers, customers, visitors, and residents in the Laurel, Dimond, and Bret Harte. Ambassadors engage, assess, and formulate an action plans to address the needs of everyone in the community by building trust and relationships with key stakeholders.

Ambassadors are bridge builders. They are trained to connect those in need with the myriad of NGO and government resource providers available to help. The ambassador’s work is integral to the neighborhood’s economic health and safety for all, regardless of race, ethnicity, or background.

Overall, the Ambassador program aims to help stimulate economic activity, reduce violence; restore feelings of security; and create an integrated, coordinated model for public safety and community wellness that benefits the merchants and establishments, workers, residents, houseless, and visitors of the Laurel District and the immediate surrounding area.
